For the past 30 years, Dominique Laurent has produced some of the most memorable Burgundy Pinot Noir wines one can experience. A master in maturation, he believes the keys to great wines are old vines, low yields as well as a very careful and accurate ageing in the best oak barrels. For that purpose, he acquired a small artisan cooperage crafting barrels of the highest quality

Most superstars’ producers of Burgundy base their reputation on a handful of Grands Crus wines commanding stratospheric price tags. While Dominique Laurent does produce some incredible Grands Crus, he stands out by also transcending Villages and Premiers Crus appellations, with wines defying the current Burgundy hierarchy.

Dominique was joined by his son Jean in 2006 and a small estate, Domaine Laurent Pere & Fils, created. Prime vineyards in Nuits, Gevrey Chambertin, Echezeaux, Vougeot, Meursault, Beaune and Pommard are farmed organically and vinified in whole bunches with little or no sulfites.

 

2017 is another milestone for Dominique Laurent with the completion of a new state of the art cellar in Vosne Romanee.
